Indications

Chronic kidney failure.

Therapy of recurrent oxalate-calcium stones in cats with impaired renal function.

Hepatic encephalopathy.

Prevention of recurrence of urolithiasis requiring alkalization of urine: gout and cystine stones.

Contraindications

Pregnancy, lactation, growth period.

Duration of therapy

The diet should be used for at least 6 months. After this time, it is recommended to perform check-ups. With the loss of function of more than 75% of nephrons and in the case of irreversible changes, the diet should be used for the rest of the cat's life.

Increased palatability stimulates appetite in cats with kidney failure. Limited levels of phosphorus in the diet slow down the development of secondary hyperparathyroidism, which promotes the deepening of changes in the kidneys. The addition of long-chain omega 3 fatty acids (EPA - DHA) helps to reduce pressure in the glomeruli and reduce the progressive decrease in the rate of glomerular filtration. Elevated levels of urea in the blood can cause ulcers on the mucous membrane of the stomach and intestines. The combined action of zeolite and FOS reduces this risk.
