DAIWA is a giant corporation covering the whole world. The mother company and the main factories are located in Japan. Daiwa is a global leader in innovation, offer and overall sales of fishing tackle, among others. Apart from Japan, the company has its Authorized Representations and production headquarters in the United States, Australia, Taiwan, France, Thailand and Germany.

In 1977, Daiwa also started producing top-of-the-line rods in Wishaw, Scotland. The British factory is a special place because it is one of the few bastions of European tradition in the production of fishing tackle.

Daiwa started its activity in 1958, when the vision and huge contribution of the project’s father, Yoshio Matsui, became the company Daiwa Seiko Inc. in Nakano, Tokyo. Originally, the focus was mainly on reels, but already in 1964, the production of rods was launched in a newly opened factory for this purpose.

A small-scale company quickly transformed into a giant of international importance. An important goal of the future leader in the fishing industry was a strong entry into the American market, and so in 1966 Daiwa Corporation was established in Los Angeles, then the company appeared in Australia, where in 1972 the company Daiwa Whyte-Hall Pty. Ltd. was established in Sydney.

The European expansion falls in 1977 – Daiwa Sports Ltd. is being established in Wishaw, Scotland. In fact, entering the market in Europe has become a turning point in the company’s history, and this is because from now on Daiwa has initiated the construction of a specific program strictly tuned to the specifics of British and European fishing. Very quickly poles, matchfish, spinning rods, flies, and over time also carp rods with the Daiwa Scotland logo, signed "Made in the UK" have become a very prestigious and desirable commodity in the UK and throughout Europe.

Over and over again, rods with the British flag are synonymous with incomparable excellence. These are selective products for demanding anglers aware of what they really expect from such high-end equipment.

The company is expanding further – in parallel, more factories are being built in Japan: in 1970 – Hiroshima Factory and Tochigi Factory, and in 1971 the production of rods was initiated at the Taiwan Daiwa, Ltd. factory in Kaohsiung City. In 1970, Daiwa went public.

In 1984 another representative office was established in Europe, the company Daiwa France S.A. in Rouen, and in 1990 Daiwa Cormoran GmbH Grobenzell near Munich, Germany. Subsequent subsidiaries were established in Thailand (Daiwa Seiko Thailand Co., Ltd. – 1995), Taiwan (Enterprise Daiwa FT Co., Ltd. – 2002) and China (Zhongshan Dasheng Sporting Goods Ltd. – 2003). in Poland Daiwa opened its Representation in 2006 as a result of this event, the desired by all Daiwa became available also on the Polish market. Subsequently, Daiwa entered the Czech and Slovak markets as well as the Hungarian markets also in these countries, creating its Representations.
