Rapala is a world-renowned company with over 80 years of tradition. Its name comes from the name of Lauri Rapala, a Finnish fisherman who – according to legend – in 1936 made balsa wood the first bait resembling a small, scared fish. The original wobblers turned out to be so hunting that they quickly spread among anglers. In the 60s. The company from Finland was already a global giant in the production of wobblers and spinners – currently it is estimated that it sells about 20 million lures a year. To this day, companies specializing in creating artificial lures try to match the level that Rapala has set (and still sets).

The data collected by the IGFA clearly indicate that most of the record specimens of fish caught in the world have just been caught on Rapala wobblers. In addition to artificial lures, the Finnish company also produces rods and reels, which are particularly popular in the US and Canada, as well as specialized clothing, practical bags, fishing glasses and other accessories.
