The device automatically adjusts the required power consumption depending on the connection status and cable length, reducing power consumption.

Disabling power to unused ports

Traditional network switches consume a significant amount of power for ports, even if the devices connected to them are turned off. The TL-SG108 automatically detects the connection status of each port, reducing the power consumption of inactive ports.

Power consumption depending on cable length

Theoretically, the use of shorter cables should reduce energy consumption, due to lower energy losses in their length. However, most devices use the same amount of energy, regardless of the length of the cables. The TL-SG108 switch analyzes the length of cables connected to it and regulates the amount of energy consumed by the ports accordingly.

Ease of use

The automatic functions of the switch make its installation hassle-free and requires no configuration. Thanks to the MDI/MDIX function, there is no need for patch cables. The automatic connection negotiation feature allows you to automatically detect the speed of devices connected to each of the ports (10, 100 or 1000Mbps) for optimal transmission performance.
