Dried horsetail herb is a valuable addition to the daily diet of rabbits and rodents, such as homemade coffee, chinchillas, basketries or hamsters. This plant is characterized by an extremely high content of silica, which plays a key role in maintaining the proper condition of the skin, coat and claws.
Health Properties:
- Strengthening the hair coat and claws: Thanks to the large amount of silicon, regular administration of horsetail prevents brittleness of the claws and makes the fur thick and shiny. This is especially important during the molting period.
- Urinary tract support: Horsetail has a natural diuretic and cleansing effect. It supports the work of the kidneys and helps prevent the accumulation of sediments and stones in the urinary tract.
- Bone mineralization: Mineral components contained in the herb have a positive effect on the skeletal system and strengthen blood vessels, supporting the overall immunity of the body.
- Detoxification and metabolism: The plant supports liver function and metabolic processes, acting detoxifying and regenerating.
Method of administration: The herb should be used as a complementary food. Small amounts are recommended (e.g. one twig or pinch) 1 to 2 times a week. Due to the presence of antivitamin B1, horsetail should not be used as a basis for a diet, but as a valuable element diversifying herbal mixtures.
