The impact mechanism turns the engine speed into a series of short rotational strokes that transfer up to 200 Nm of torque to the screw. The difference with a regular screwdriver is that the force goes to the head of the screw, not to your wrist — the tool does not break out of your hand when the screw hits the resistance. You screw long carpentry screws into wood, screws for terrace structures, OSB boards and frames, mount them in studs in masonry and tighten bolts and nuts. The same mechanism works the other way around: it unscrews the elements found, corroded and tightened firmly, at which an ordinary screwdriver only reams the socket. With the direction switch, you switch from screwing to unscrewing without changing the tool.

🛠 Three gears and a trigger that listens to your finger

Three gears allow you to match the tool to the task, instead of fighting at one speed to everything. The first — up to 1200 rpm. /min and 1400 strokes/min — used to start the screw and for delicate materials where you care about control, not at the pace. Second, up to 2400 rpm. /min and 2600 strokes/min, that's the setting for the daily job. The third draws 3400 rpm. /min and 3600 strokes/min and takes long carpentry screws and serial screwing where time counts. You change gears with the push of a button, without putting down the tool. In addition, there is a trigger with smooth rotation adjustment: the harder you press, the faster the motor runs, so you set the screw slowly and precisely, and then press your finger and tighten at full speed. This combination gives you control on two levels – the gear sets the range, the finger selects the pace within it.

🛠 1/4" hex chuck — bits you already have

The screw driver has a 1/4" metal hexagon handle, or 6,35 mm, with quick release. This is the most common mounting standard on the market, so it fits bits that are probably already in your drawer — crosses, torx, allen, sockets, extensions and hex shank caps. The exchange goes in one motion: you pull the sleeve, remove the bit, insert a new one and let go. There are no jaws to tighten and you do not need a wrench, so when assembling, in which you change the screw head every now and then, you do not waste time on retooling. For impact work, use bits marked as impact bits – they are made of steel more resistant to twisting and withstand a full 200 Nm, while ordinary bits for screwdrivers at such a moment can break.

🛠 Right-left rotation with lock

You change the direction of rotation with the slider over the trigger, available thumb without changing the grip. The center setting locks the trigger and protects the tool from accidental start-up – in the box, in transport and when the screw driver hangs on the strap with the bit on.

🛠 Light where you screw in

The built-in LED illuminates the work area exactly in the axis of the bit. This matters wherever the compact housing allows you to enter: in the cabinet, in the cavity, under the countertop, in the corner and between the elements of the structure, your own body and tool obscure the light from the room, and the flashlight would require a third hand. The LED sets the sheaf where you look, so you hit the screw socket with a bit the first time instead of groping it and reaming your head. It is also useful when working in the evening, in the basement, in the attic and wherever there is no permanent lighting.

🛠 116 mm long and 0,87 kg — goes where an ordinary screwdriver will not go

The screw driver measures from the tip of the handle to the back of the housing only 116 mm, and without a battery weighs 0,87 kg. Thanks to this, you work with one hand in places where the standard tool simply does not set up: in the furniture and kitchen buildings at the hinges and guides, under the countertop, between the terrace joists, in the posts of the partition walls and in the corners. The short case allows you to hit the bit perpendicular to the material instead of at an angle, so the screw head does not escape. Less than a kilogram also makes a difference when working on a ladder and overhead – after several dozen screws, the wrist does not stiffen, and when you need both hands, you hang the tool on the belt with a hook. This size is due to the brushless motor, which has no brushes or commutator and takes up less space. The compact housing is therefore not a compromise here: the torque is still 200 Nm.

🛠 Cap instead of bit — and you have a screw tool

The 1/4" hex socket accepts not only bits, but also caps and extensions on the hex shank. You put on the cap and with the same tool tighten the axle nuts on the bike, wheel bolts in the wheelbarrow and transport trolley, twist furniture, swings, profile structures and garden equipment. Stroke helps the most when unscrewing: the nut, which has been found outside for a season and has suffered corrosion, lets go after a few strikes, instead of fighting you on a flat wrench. The extension, in turn, solves the problem of access – you will reach for the nut between the spokes or in the depth of the frame, where the housing itself will not fit. For impact work, use caps marked as impact, black; chrome workshop caps are not designed for such loads and can break.

🔸Is the battery and charger included?

▪ No. The designation ".9" in the name means the version without battery and charger. This is a proposal for people who already have WORX PowerShare batteries and do not want to pay for the same thing twice.

🔸What batteries fit?

▪ All WORX PowerShare 20 V batteries. The same battery powers WORX power tools and garden equipment, so if you have a lawn mower or blower from this brand at home, the battery from them will also work here.

🔸Can this tool be drilled?

▪ No. This impact driver is only for screwing and unscrewing. There is no drill chuck or drilling mode, and you will not attach a round shank drill bit to the hex socket. For drilling you need a drill-driver.

🔸Will I unscrew the wheel bolts in the car with it?

▪ We do not recommend. For car wheels, an impact wrench with a 1/2" square shank is used. This screw driver has a 1/4" hex socket and is designed for home, workshop, and garden work.
